To Whom it may concern, August 15, 2019 I am writing this recommendation on behalf of David Thurlkill. Mr. Thurlkill and I have known each other for quite some time. We met at a University of Oregon alumni function when he was on the athletic staff. I believe that was about 1992. I was impressed with Dave and was pleased that he had joined the NCAA Membership Services staff a few years later. I was serving as the Vice President for Education Services at the time. During his stay with us at the national office we developed a good relationship and I served as an informal advisor to him for many years. As many of our staff have done, Dave left the national office and chose to pursue opportunities at one of the colleges or universities within the membership. It was a good fit because Dave is articulate and is an excellent thinker. As with many of the members of our membership services and enforcement staffs, Dave had a high degree of respect for the rules and regulations of the NCAA. He possessed good judgement and seemed to want to
