    • Director
      • Jan 2008 - Apr 2012

I was Director of this company and built a solid and comprehensive portfolio including new builds and renovations within the outskirts of London and the South-East. I liaised with Local Authorities and other building based clients, the role of Director was challenging but extremely satisfying and involved many new areas of business management which I had never endeavoured before. The building elements of the business I particularly enjoyed were developing a reliable and reputable company. Successfully winning contracts and keeping my staff in employment. Achieving high standards in Health & Safety was always a priority to me and improves training to minimise accidents onsite. Also maintaining a positive environment within the company to maximise productivity. Show less

Ground Worker/Brick Layer and Team Leader working on behalf of BT, this was a nationwide contract which involved all aspects of the Civils industry. The company employed over 5000 specialist and the emphasis of employment safety and product delivery was always a high priority. This is when I started becoming interested in a leadership role, in particular Health and Safety. I gained much confidence in this industry through studying and questioning already experienced officers in this line of work. I was promoted to Team Leader and was the main contact to four specialist groups containing three individuals in each one. I first gained my NRSWA supervisor ticket and HGV Class 2 licence whilst being employed here. Becoming Team Leader was hugely satisfying as I was given the opportunity to learn how to programme and implement the work while overseeing fellow colleagues who responded extremely well to my leadership skills.
