Bio
Benjamin Ashby
David is an extremely talented guy who even at the start of their career is destined to go places. I had the pleasure of managing David for several months where he excelled and gave invaluable insight and input into the initial groundwork for blur's automation testing framework, and has since improved his knowledge and skills throughout the entire tech function. David has now become one of the key pieces of the blur team, and currently is stamping his authority on the next generation of blur's platform. His organisation and project management is exceptional. I would thoroughly recommend David, and he would be an asset to any team.

Change Team Lead
-
Dec 2014 - Aug 2015
As Change team lead, my job is to lead a team of engineers to develop not only new features and improvements to Maistro's cloud based platform, but work on bug fixing.I continue to work with a number of Front End technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, AngularJS, WordPress among others, and in the first two months of 2015 my team has developed and delivered the new public pages as part of the release of Maistro 5.0. As well as this, I have begun to look at working on other areas of the platform, including the back end infrastructure, helping me to develop my skills in PHP.The other part of my role is to manage the workload that is brought in, and plan not only my teams time, but work with the business to prioritise the improvements and fixes, which will help to improve efficiency for other areas of the business. This is allowing me to develop not only my time and man management skills, but also my ability to work and deliver in a fast paced and agile environment. Show less

Front End Developer
-
Aug 2014 - Dec 2014
My responsibility as a Front End Developer was to work in a small team of developers to work on a number of areas of Maistro's platform. I am working with a number of different technologies, competently working with HTML5, CSS3, Wordpress, JADE template engine, Bootstrap 3, as well as working with and learning JavaScript and the JS Framework Angular JS. Another part of my role is to help organise the workload, and work together with my team to decide what we will all work on, and split tasks, using the management tool JIRA. This has helped me to understand developing software as part of an Agile team, and helped to improve my organisational and communication skills with not only my team, but my management and other teams within the business. Business Analyst
-
Jan 2014 - Jul 2014
As a business analyst, my role is to gather requirements at the start of any project, and develop them in order for various teams within the company to progress with a software project. At the start of this role I was given a project to oversee from beginning. This would involve gathering requirements for the project, drafting these into a form where Design and Engineering teams could begin developing their work. This would allow me to operate almost as a project manager, making sure time lines where sorted and that deadlines could be met in order for the project to be released on the specified date.
