"The Dealer" is a VR narrative game where players deal poker to a group of players who are all playing for the chance to finally get out of Purgatory. Ultimately though, this is a project that seeks to experiment with narrative in VR. From the perspective of the dealer, the player will learn about the lives and play-styles of each player at the table. The dealer holds the ultimate power by their ability to stack the deck and influence the game to help or hinder players at the table.https://www.davidmfrisch.com/#/the-dealer/ Show less

"KnifeHeart" is a two player local fighting game and visual novel combined, where the choices you make in the visual novel sections affect the personality and fighting ability of your character. Part of what we were trying to accomplish as a team was to create a game whose narrative and mechanics bled into each other. In this vein, we ended up making a fighting game where the character select screen is replaced with a visual novel. Each dialogue choice the player makes in the game gives their character a specific corresponding ability. https://www.davidmfrisch.com/#/knifeheart-1/ Show less

FireWalk was a project born out of a fun idea. What if we strapped controllers to our feet and designed levels around that? While the design question didn't result in the most engaging VR experience we've ever had, it was certainly an interesting one. As well it answered a lot of questions about the limits of interaction in VR, as well as the physical effect of VR games on our bodies, and how to effectively design for physical engagement.

The First Folio: The Globe Theater Experience was an interactive VR installation that brought Shakespeare’s London to life. Participants stepped into the shoes of a Spanish merchant on his way to see a showing of Shakespeare’s "Henry V". Presented along side a traveling exhibition of Shakespeare's First Folio, around 3000 students from Miami-Dade County Public Schools saw the installation.https://www.davidmfrisch.com/#/first-folio-the-globe-experience/
