Dave is an incredibly talented architect / consultant and was an indispensible asset to the development group. Whenever i needed a second opinion regarding various design decisions and approaches to problems I encountered on my projects I always looked to Dave first for his input and valued his opinion above all others. He always had a good grasp of the situation and understood what i was trying to convey with minimal explaination. He was always professional and his advice was rock solid.

It was a pleasure working with David at Optimum Technology. I was able to learn many database optimization techniques while working on the Ohio Attorney General's OHLEG SE Data Loader. David was the architect on the Data Loader and it was apparent that he knew the best development patterns and practices to use for this client.

As Tech Lead, I architected and implemented solutions to automate the company’s business flow. .NET was used as the technology of choice, and the C# language was chosen as the implementation language. Software design patterns were incorporated into the overall architecture. Major projects included an automation system (ETL) to support multiple traffic systems, a RFP based system for the media industry, email system to support mass mailings, multiple administration sub systems, and automation of financial uploads. I also helped architect a bug tracker system as well as a session tracker system. As Development Manager, I enforce and help implement standards across all technical projects.I am also involved in all major technical decisions the company makes at all levels. Another aspect of the position is to asses new technologies and approaches while refactoring older systems to bring them up to speed. While I was part time since 2001, I was able to go fulltime in November 2006. Show less

This position had me working in two roles. I worked on projects as a .NET consultant, helping to implement software design patterns and best practices. I also worked on projects as an enterprise data modeler, helping to build the foundations upon which several applications worked off of. I worked in an Oracle heavy shop, so did a lot of PL/SQL development in packages as well as procedures. I also did work in SQL Server 2000 as DBA and datamodeler, and implemented models in there as well. My projects ranged from a hospital pump accounting system, to a reconciliation project that merged data from SAP, Lotus Notes, and SQL Server 2000. I also worked on a general ledger transactional distribution system against SAP sales data. My most recent project had me as the SQL Server DBA. The project was a governmental compliance project in regards to hospital disbursements. Show less

This position had me working on a Life Illustration system. I created a conditional xml based PDF rendering system that allowed for viewing of live information on both the main life illustration system as well as the Life Illustration Application system. An admin system was also created, with an auditing system that trapped all actions that occurred within the administration system. The administration system allowed full administration on the Life Illustration system. I also advised on several aspects of the Life Illustration main system concerning the .NET architecture as well as on other projects. Tools used for this contract were Visual Studio.NET 2003, XMLSPY, and SQL Server 2000. Show less

On this contract, I architected and implemented a scalable and flexible web enabled system from the ground up. The system was to automate their business processes. The System followed closely with Microsoft n-tier philosophy and utilized Microsoft technologies. The Enterprise system comprised of 11 sub systems, which all interacted with the System framework. An import system was also developed to handle MRC’s current business load and previous business load. The goal of the Import system was to centralize his current non-web clients and paper based clients into one central repository (SQL Server 2000). The import system will be phased out as his client base shifts to the Enterprise system. It is currently live at http://www.mrcconsulting.com. Crystal Reports 9 has also been integrated into the System for the reporting interface. Show less

On this contract, I architected and implemented a prototype to track and analyze washloss scenarios. Several departments sponsored the project, and the prototype was for their in-house resources. This contract was short, but was very involved in terms of working with the different business units and managing the project. On this contract, I designed and implemented several solutions for the ABB E-commerce system. Microsoft consultants were on hand to ensure the system adhered to Microsoft standards. The position required me to work closely with the Microsoft consultants. Various activities such as importing massive data, implementing ASP pages, and writing many stored procedures were common in this contract. I designed and implemented a 2-tier system to automate clients business load. The Client side application was a VB executable, and the server side application was also a VB executable. The client executable would gather the information, and then send it to the server, which in turn processed the information. This process moved the client from a non-software based process to that of a software-enabled business. MRC was one of the first businesses to do this in their field, and in return they gained a major foothold in their market. Show less
