I worked alongside Dave while serving with 1st Reconnaissance Battalion in Iraq. Dave’s tireless efforts to support the mission and willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty were truly inspirational. Having served with him under combat conditions I can attest that he possesses the personal and professional traits necessary to not only succeed, but excel in any position the future might hold for him. His technical expertise, initiative, and dedication to duty were essential to our unit’s success in combat and had a direct and positive impact on our overall mission accomplishment. Dave often worked days on end with little to no sleep, assuming extra duties and responsibilities completely voluntarily. While his primary responsibility was fire support to our combat operations, he also singlehandedly designed our Information Operations campaign and developed an ordinance identification tool, providing our Battalion with the knowledge and resources to run a successful IO campaign and greatly assisting with intelligence gathering throughout our area of operations. Dave’s ability to work with little to supervision makes him the type of fire and forget type weapon that every commander wants on their team. I recommend Dave with the utmost enthusiasm. It was truly an honor to have served with him.
