A new treatment for non-melanoma skin cancers using an epidermal beta emitting radiation isotope Rhenium-188 is being trialed at several sites across Australia. This beta emitting radioisotope resin can treat NMSCs to a depth of 3 mm. In Western Australia, Dr Joe Cardaci, Nuclear Medicine Physician at Hollywood Medical Centre is treating patients for the EPIC skin cancer trial. Patients enrolled in this clinical trial receive a single fraction of radiation of 50Gy to their NMSC. My role is to support Dr Cardaci through engaging with patient referrers such as Dermatologists and Skin Cancer Specialist GPs and clinics to recruit patients to this trial.

Developing one set of resources that can be used nationally in GenesisCare has been a main focus in this role, requiring collaboration, communication and discovery with other employees working around Australia.
