David Reeves

I enjoyed the privilege of working along side David in various roles while we at were at Wycliffe Associates. No mater how difficult the task you could always count on him to get the job done. He tackled every project with wholehearted enthusiasm. He is a gifted networker with strong connections in South America and many parts of Sub-saharan Africa. It was a honor to have been able to work with this humble man. I hope we have the opportunity to do so again in the near future.

Dave is an enthusiastic, encouraging, compassionate and caring leader. During the time I reported to him, Dave led by example and served more as a coach than a boss. He has excellent interpersonal skills and is a timely communicator. In April 2015, Dave recruited me to join the WA Gateway Language team, formed to implement a newly adopted strategy. The team was given very specific and aggressive goals to accomplish in a short time frame. The processes we were instructed to use were new and largely untested, the guidelines provided for us changed as quickly as we adopted them, the tools we were given were still under development and not yet released, and partnerships for the new strategy had yet to be engaged. This was very much a pioneering venture. Our team was told to "fly the airplane while it is being built." In this challenging and ambiguous environment, Dave built a team based on a foundation of solid values he laid out for us. He kept us focused on the goals as he led us along a steep learning curve that he climbed with us. As obstacles appeared and the goals changed mid-stream, Dave remained respectful to the authority over him, maintained his faith and optimism, and boosted our morale. With his leadership, we gained traction and made steady progress towards the objectives.
