Created a climatology of cloud to ground (CG) lightning in Alaska and correlated lightning data with concurrent NARR data using principle component analysis to determine which meteorological patterns were most conducive for CG lightning to occur. Logistic regression equations for forecasting CG lightning with S-Plus using the most relevant patterns identified.
