Sabbatical to travel

During this time period I decided to take a sabbatical from work and have been travelling the world to learn more about different countries, customs and cultures. I feel this year has been invaluable to my own personal development in areas such as: Communication – I have learnt small amounts of many languages this year and have found that I can confidently engage with individuals even where there has been a language barrier; Cultural Awareness – During this period I have travelled to many different countries where I have spent time engaging with local communities and have developed an understanding of their cultures and practices; Problem Solving – I have had to continually problem solve throughout this year for example when planning out my intended route of travel and I have also needed to adapt my skills and solve problems in real-time due to numerous unforeseen events that have arisen along the way; Confidence – I feel my confidence has developed further over the course of this year from the many scenarios in which I have been exposed to and from engaging with numerous individuals in new environments.
