As a KC-10 Flight Engineer I am responsible for aircraft systems troubleshooting. I control the pneumatics, air conditioning systems, pressurization, Fuel management, navigation and weather. I report to the pilots the status of the aircraft during preflight, cruise, decent and landing phases of flight. I currently hold over 1800hrs in this crew position. I have 4 years as a flight scheduler. This job managed over 30 personal and 20+ sorties per week. As a KC-10 Flight Engineer I am responsible for aircraft systems troubleshooting. I was responsible for maintaining hydraulics, pneumatics, electrics, power plant, landing gear systems. I was also trained in vibration reduction troubleshooting. I also managed an aircraft Wheel & Tire shop. Along with tear down and repair of multiple heavy fixed-winged and tilt rotor wheel and tire assemblies I also maintained the hazardous materials required/generated by the shop. This includes but not limited to denatured alcohol, cleaning supplies to gasoline.
