In my years at The Network, a leading actor's networking firm in New York City, I was responsible for forming and sustaining relationships with hundreds of New York and L.A. casting directors, agents, managers, film directors, and leading industry teachers, as well as the creation of a wide range of unique and exciting actor’s networking programming from “one-off” seminars, weekend intensives, multi- tiered casting festivals, and eight-week courses. A year after I began working with the company, I helmed and facilitated a strategic restructuring of the business model that led to a 220% increase in revenue within two years. This jump in profits was, in part, due to a systematic overhaul of generalised marketing to a strategic, focused marketing scheme wherein hundreds of quantifying factors were used to determine the needs of each particular client as an individual. This plan not only made our 10,000+ clients feel their individual goals and needs were seen and met, it allowed, it increased daily sales from $900 a day when I started, to $5,000 a day within two years. This increase in our profit margin allowed for the expansion of the actor’s networking business to include the procurement of and build-out of a state-of-the art rehearsal studio rental business, The Paul J. Michael Studios. In addition to creating this marketing strategy, I was personally responsible for all daily advertising, the creation of all new programming, as well as the negotiation and payment of hundreds of weekly artistic fees, and salaries. I was solely responsible for the training, and management of five full-time staff members, and ten weekly volunteers; the duties of which included salary negotiation, mid-term reviews, creative encouragement, and motivation through incentivisation, the creation of unique networking opportunities, and a consistent focus on sustaining a healthy, fun, creative, and supportive work environment with an open door/open communication policy.
