I worked at Toys R Us starting as a typical seasonal employee, working overnights and stocking the shelves with freight unloaded from trucks! I would continue to influence the back of house and stay on with the team as I moved through the positions of product assembler (mostly putting together bikes and power wheels) and finally back of house supervisor. I took a leave from Toys R Us in 2015 for about 6 months to explore another line of work in a warehouse (detailed elsewhere in my profile). After that 6 months, I would return to Toys R Us, deciding that it would be preferable to have have an influence on my surroundings, serving as a supervisor from April of 2016 up until the company's closure in June of 2018.

    • Product Selector
      • Aug 2015 - Feb 2016

As an order selector, I had to keep pace to pick product for various customers. The job typically required over time and using a handheld voice activated computer. There was also teamwork involved as you had to coordinate to pass the order on to the next team member down the line. As an order selector, I had to keep pace to pick product for various customers. • Deli Clerk
      • Oct 2010 - Mar 2011

As a deli clerk, I was behind a counter taking customers specific orders and slicing meat/ cheeses as per their requests, weighing the product to make sure I had the right amount. Other duties included stock rotation, quality management (making sure our salads looked fresh and taking tempuratures), and following the various safety standards to ensure a sanitary work environment!
