Shooting Stars Basketball

  I envisioned a community that offers children and young adults ample opportunity for athletic growth, so I launched the Shooting Stars program in 2014. I am a basketball influencer. I’ve recruited and managed volunteers and staff for the Amateur Athletic Union tournaments. These events serve over 500 students between ages 3-18 and promote nutrition, leadership, and community activism. I maintain the operating budget for each of these events within the program and author marketing materials to expand its awareness and community reach. This achievement highlights the value I bring to our young athletes and community: ● Awarded $3,000 Tourism Grant from City of Federal Way in 2016.

  As an administrator, I firmly believe in establishing and maintaining a school culture that is conducive to student success.   I tirelessly devised and implemented academic and social interventions for over 300 at-risk students. To accomplish this, I composed student profiles based on academic performance, student enrollment, and the socioeconomic barriers our students faced. This data set allowed me to craft strategies tailored to specific student needs. To augment this effort, I initiated partnerships with nonprofits, schools, and faith-based agencies to help us provide more opportunities for at-risk students to graduate and fulfill their goals. This achievement highlights the value I brought to our students and community: ● Team Member responsible for Reengaging 1500 drop out students, generating 15% graduation rate increase among at-risk students.

  As an (V) Assistant Coach for the WWU Vikings, I collaborated with the coaching staff to orchestrate recruitment and retention plans aligned to NCAA rules. Assisting in practices, physical conditioning, and summer camps, constantly evaluating players to further develop their abilities and our team performance.
