Academy Ambassadors is a non-profit organisation set up to bring talented educationalists and business leaders together to build better academy trust boards. Working with Regional Advisers for the North of England, my role is to identify opportunities to build better boards at Multi Academy Trusts across the region, helping to bring additional knowledge, skills, expertise and experience from the business world in the form of Non-Executive Directors placed with appropriate trust boards.Working both to place applicants who are seeking to contribute to local trust board, and with trust boards to advertise opportunities within. The number of academy trusts seeking new non-executives for their board is increasing: to meet the demand, we are developing the network and seeking interest from senior executives, schools and partner organisations. Marketing Manager

Sep 2016 - Jan 2017
In this newly-created role, I am the marketing lead for all aspects of the organisation's activity, from B2B relationship-building to internal and external comms, web development and social media strategy. Working in an environment that has traditionally been focused on offline and non-digital channels, my priority is in helping to streamline and focus the organisation's strategy to reach new customers, profile existing clients and identify opportunities for developing the brand presence through digital activity. My strong experience in content development and management has allowed me to approach this work with an eye on how the 'story' of the organisation is told, as well as communicating in a two-way style with clients, customers and stakeholders. Partner Marketing Manager

Jul 2013 - May 2016
Formerly as a Marketing and Communications Executive, and more recently in the senior role of Partner Marketing Manager, I was responsible for the marketing and promotion of national Sky Ride campaign, encouraging more people to cycle more often for fun and recreation. Initially with a specific responsibility and remit for Greater London area, and strategic partnership with Transport for London, my role expanded in 2016 with my move into a managerial role, to include the overseeing of all national partners from a marketing perspective. These included British Heart Foundation, Ordnance Survey and Halfords, as well as working closely with principal partner Sky and funder Sport England to meet participation targets, and over 100 Local Authority partners. My role includes all aspects of traditional print and online/digital collateral production, as well as production of video content and generation of web copy for recreational audience. Responsible for delivery of eCRM strategy for Greater London, including tracking open and conversions for intelligence/database gathering. My background in case study management has enabled me to introduce a strong peer advocacy element to the marketing activities, including written, video and social media reference materials. As Partner Marketing Manager I had a line management responsibility including all elements of review, workload management and target setting, as well as budget responsibility in line with local and national targets. As a forward-thinking communication professional, I approach my work with flexibility, creativity and a willingness to adapt and learn from my experiences to better deliver a high-quality service. My principal responsibilities within this role include generating engaging, original and vibrant copy to support the overall marketing strategy and propagate positive messages in a local, national and social media context. I am responsible for several key projects designed to work closely with a variety of audiences including current students in the 16-18 (school-leaver) age bracket, as well as adult learners, those in the community and those who are returning to education after an absence. This spans a broad range of areas, from BTEC vocational studies to traditional A-Levels, Degree-level qualifications and industry-recognised certificates. My activities are designed to promote courses that are under-subscribed, generate additional applications for full-time courses and further expand the organisation's offering in the digital space, taking advantage of social media to produce quality content - including video case studies, promotional literature and traditional means of communication. I have driven the organisation's efforts to introduce new media into communication activities, recognising the potential of Augmented Reality and integrating technology into existing communication activities. I work across a large campus, therefore I must keep abreast of all activities and be able to organise my diary in order to gather appropriate images and comment to include in press release production, as well as updating the College website regularly. As part of this overall process, I liaise regularly with correspondents at the local newspapers to ensure we have regular exposure; I also work closely with a photographer to generate vibrant, exciting photographs to capture events and activities, and with a design agency in the production and placement of adverts.
