Bio
Dilraj Lama
I supervised Mr. David Fernandez Bonet during his internship at Karolinska Institutet, Sweden in the summer of 2021. He was was without doubt one of the brightest student I had the pleasure of working with, which coupled with his sincerity and hard work proved him to be a model pupil and a supervisor's delight. During his internship, he successfully designed and developed python scripts that facilitated the efficient screening of large-scale protein sequences and structures from biological databases for the identification of low complexity region in proteins comprising of single amino acid repeats . He observed that there are preferential existence of certain amino acids in such repeat sequences and that they adopt different structural conformations. His work has implications in developing our understanding for the potential role of these repeats in protein function. Mr. David has an exceptional educational background as one can see from his resume. He has an impressive set of technical skills which will prove to be invaluable as he goes ahead in his professional career. I found him to be a careful and creative thinker with focus on detail and commitment to strive for excellence. He will certainly make a valuable member of any academic/industrial program.
