      • Oct 2014 - Mar 2017

This role involved data analysis of Pipeline and Facilities Data stored in MS Access that was to be migrated to the NEB GIS System and brought in line with the most current systems. The migrated data touched many .NET Web applications, including SSRS reports. A lot of ArcGIS development was also included as an Add-In to Arc MAP. MS Access was used to migrate the data and compare the results. The project was successfully completed in April 2016 and was a huge milestone for the NEB as it now allows them much better access to Pipeline and Facility data. This role also involved development of applications for Field Inspection written in MS Access 2010/2013 32/64 bit. The application detects when the laptop is offline and when it has connectivity to the NEB network via VPN so that the Field Inspector and always have access to local reports. It also measured the speed of the internet connection to ensure it is quick enough to upload data (Rows of Data, Attachments and Photos) from the local Inspections database. This project attracted public interest as the NEB met its goal of capturing Field inspections by the summer of 2015. IT support was also key with many applications supported such as MS Access, ASP.NET, MVC, SSRS to name just a few. Show less

The main software development was based on employee time capture using a touch screen kiosk system, using VB.NET/C# and SQL Server 2005. SAP upload file creation was also an important part of the development process for job costing information and the design of an SAP interface provided data for multiple .NET applications in multiple regions across Canada. A major challenge was supporting multiple locations in different provinces as all regions contained common data, provided by one central database. I also implemented several instances of SQL Server 2005 for production, QA Testing and Development environments and implemented Test and UAT procedures. I also maintained many databases, including nightly full backups and daily incremental backup, testing the restores on a regular basis. I also maintained and monitored the performance of the SQL Server databases across multiple regions.
