I was a young college student running a music program for the Tim Horton Children’s Foundation when we first met. I had a room of guitars, and was told that the VP (Dave) would come and borrow a guitar from time to time to play for the kids. I was new, and I was afraid. Afraid of this man that worked in an office. Afraid he would see my mess, question changes I had made, etc. But Dave, through his kind demeanour and strong leadership, quickly made all the fear I had go away. I was no longer just a music guy at a camp, but a part of something bigger. As I observed his leadership, I was challenged and inspired to lead the same way.

Dave is a colleage at Tim Hortons Childrens Foundation who works tirelessly to find ways to support an ever growing number of children at the Tim Hortons Childrens Camps. His team's work is inspiring and working with him to obtain corporate donations while at Tim Hortons has been a special opportunity to give back. A great cause and a great leader!

Camp Maple Leaf is a registered charity, providing children of Canadian Military Families and children who share unique life challenges with a camp to call their own. We currently operate two overnight camps for children : our original flagship camp in the Kawartha region of Ontario and our newest location, opened in 2022 just west of Fredericton, New Brunswick. In 2023, a pilot camp session will also take place in Alberta. At each location, Camp Maple Leaf supports and celebrates our campers for who they are, and fosters friendships that follow them home.Established in 1955 by the Canadian Council of War Veterans Associations, Camp Maple Leaf has served thousands of children over its 65 year history. Our vision is that children who share unique life challenges will have camp friends who share their experiences and help them thrive. Our strategic focus: by 2024, we will serve 2000 children every year at 3 camps, in 3 regions of Canada.
