As part of a busy daily news-gathering operation within the Greater Hamilton community, I make significant contributions to the overall success of the team. This challenging role allowed me to utilize many of the skills that I have developed over my career including;• Collaborating with broadcast journalists ensuring that all production elements were in place to support the vision for the story• Working independently to report and gather content, monitoring social media and conducting the interviews required to effectively tell the story • Manage and operate remote broadcast vehicles, providing all technical support for live television broadcasts and resolving any issues affecting live broadcasts• Developing and fostering personal relationships within the community, including media spokespersons for Police, Fire and Emergency Services• Supporting all stakeholders including Producers, Writers and Reporters, ensuring all content was editing and prepared meeting all deadlines for broadcastMy strong work ethic and drive for success have allowed me to undertake many exciting challenges in this role. Over the past number of years, I have taken on key roles within the organization on high-profile production projects including;• Technical Director for the television coverage of the funeral for Hamilton native, Corporal Nathan Cirillo who was killed in Ottawa. MYDA 2.8 Multimedia is one of Hamilton’s most comprehensive television resource facilities. Specializing in the provision of broadcast consulting and freelance video production services, the company is focused on impactful local projects. With our video production clients, MYDA 2.8 Multimedia has produced compelling television programming often from original concept to delivery of the final edit. In 2015, the company has undertaken production of the private documentary “First Responder: The Inner Battle”. The documentary will give insight into the stigmatized world of the mental issues often suffered by those “first-on-site” in disastrous situations. As the Senior Producer on this project, I have conducted all of the original research, locating and contacting those First Responders who are struggling with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. I have also coordinated all other aspects for the documentary including shoot days, travel itineraries, budgets, and production timelines. The company has also produced numerous short-form television commercials, promotional spots and other compelling content for our clients within the Greater Hamilton area. The consulting branch of the company provides clients with design and construction guidance for their broadcast projects. With our vast experience, MYDA 2.8 Multimedia, can provide solutions for almost any sized project. In 2015, the company designed and installed a new Studio Control room for St. Mary School in Hamilton. During my tenure with TV Hamilton Limited, I had the opportunity to work in a number of key roles within the organization. From all aspects of television production, to engaging with hundreds of Community Producers and volunteers, the skill-set required in these roles were a perfect fit with my overall career objectives.My strong and diverse technical background allowed me to succeed in all production aspects of my employment. My strong interpersonal skills provided me the necessary tools to train and lead crews of talented volunteers in the production of locally relevant Community Programming. My strong sense of civic engagement gave me the background to work side-by-side with producers and hosts and help them bring their stories to television in the best way possible.The diversity of assignments in Community Programming provided me with the ability to excel in a wide variety of rolls. Projects ranging from producing and directing daily current affairs broadcasts, to designing and rewiring Control Rooms and Mobile Production vehicles all enabled me to develop a wide-ranging portfolio of success that I am continually building on.
