The Mono County Sheriff Search & Rescue team is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization, based in Mammoth Lakes, CA, dedicated to serving the Eastern Sierra and neighboring counties. The team performs search and rescue operations in terrain ranging from 4,500ft to 13,000ft+, at any time, in any weather. • Participated in 150+ trainings, 200+ operations with 50+ as the operations leader, coordinating a variety of resources with multiple agencies. • Responsible to maintain, organize, repair and replace all team gear equipment used for operations. • Designed and managed the purchase of the team’s first new, primary response vehicle, resulting in increased safety, reduced response time, and better organization. Vehicle was put in service on time and on budget. • Designed and oversaw the development of the team’s first permanent facility housing all vehicles, trailers, and snowmobiles. The facility will have a meeting/training room, operations room and equipment room. Integral in land acquisition from Mammoth Community Water District. Obtained encroachment permit from CalTrans and successfully lobbied for complete exemption from of all permit and fees by to the Town of Mammoth Lakes, Mammoth Lakes Fire Department, Mammoth Unified School District and Mammoth Community Water District. • Developed and organized various fundraising events that raised over $1,000,000 in donations over 4 years, including annual golf tournament.
