Development Center Mgr. • Was instrumental in the design, equipment selection, start-up and debug of two complete rubber mixing lines. • Interviewed, selected and hired salary support staff including three material development engineers, three technicians, one MRP professional, two quality facilitators, one receiving professional, and numerous other salary support staff for other parts of the facility. • Interviewed, hired, and coordinated training for over forty hourly associates. • In four months time, brought the two rubber mixing lines from zero pounds of finished stock per month to over 1,200,000 pounds of finished stock per month. • Maintained an excellent plant safety record as evidenced by zero recordable accidents in six months of installation and debug and four months of production. • Oversaw and coordinated the commercialization and customer approval of thirty compound formulas. • As the facility subject matter expert in 5S / Visual factory, trained salaried and hourly associates and coordinated implementation on a plant wide scale. • Worked very closely with customers, including Ford and GM to optimize the quality and performance of mixed stock. Elizabethtown: • Material Development Engineer. Responsible for commercializing new products on a global basis. Interface and work with primary research, manufacturing, and final customers. Duties include compound / product development, factory troubleshooting, customer problem resolution, process development, and serving as a technical resource to the Power Transmission Division. • Manufacturing Area Mgr. of the Mill Room. Manage six salaried Facilitators, and 61 hourly associates in a 24/7 operation. Directly responsible for all Mill Room operations. Primary focus is on the optimization of quality, safety and productivity. Six Sigma, Lean Sigma, SPC, and behavior based safety were employed as a framework for conducting business.
