Safgard is a multi-channel distributor of safety and slip resistant shoes to customers nationally. As the Vice President of Operations, I am responsible for a $1.5M budget with P&L accountability. Safgard operates warehouses in 5 states and ships over 45,000 pairs of shoes per week to businesses, internet customers, and our 24 retail locations. My responsibilities also include managing our fleet of 55 mobile store trucks. Daily unit availability has improved from 85% to 98% since I initiated replacement of failing company owned trucks with new lease units including full maintenance. I implemented an Excel based inventory allocation tool which allowed Safgard to improve its same day shipping performance to 98%, for all orders received by 3pm. Other accomplishments include the rewriting of the physical inventory system which enables inventory to be taken in real time, providing results within hours of count completion versus 5 days. I reduced annual unexplained inventory losses from 5.0% to .75% on over $14M of inventory yielding $595,000. Show less

Bollman Hat is a premier manufacturer and distributor of fine men’s and women’s hats for 140+ years. In my role as Director of Distribution and Logistics Services, I served on the executive operating committee which developed the sales, operational and financial goals for the company. My direct contributions included the savings of $395,000 through the consolidation of distribution facilities as well a reduction of operating expenses by 25%, saving Bollman over $350,000. I also created an RFP to competitively bid Bollman’s ocean freight business saving the company 13% on its shipping costs. During my tenure, I was responsible for sourcing and managing 3PL partners domestically and internationally. Show less

Kegel’s is a regional wholesale distributor of high-quality produce to restaurants, schools and foodservice institutions. As General Manager I was hired by the family to oversee the daily operation of the distribution center and fleet of 40+ delivery trucks. As the company grew a new facility was needed. I managed the design, layout and construction of a state-of-the-art 100,000 square foot distribution facility. My responsibilities included the development of SOP’s, SSOP’s and a HACCP program for the new building. As a result, Kegel’s passed all subsequent inspections with no deficiencies. Under my supervision, picking accuracy increased to 99.9% and productivity improved by nearly 30%. Show less
