I was taken on to replace a departing IT Manager and to bring a few systems and practices up to date. Creation and implementation of a disaster recovery system and DR site A new backup strategy was implemented. From the number of cycled tapes, through hardware and software requirements. Ongoing upgrades to BT Equip Wide Area Network. Implementation of a new case management system. Implementation of a digital dictation system. Creation of a company Intranet. Recruitment of new staff including training to basic level and ongoing hands-on training. Planning and implementation of a helpdesk system. Negotiation and implementation of new printer contract. Many hardware and software contracts were reviewed and renewed or replaced making substantial savings to the IT Budget.

During my time there i successfully: Created a global wide area network (WAN) Moved the corporate head office location to new premises on two occasions. Planned, created and implemented a global Windows Server 2003 domain. Created Email standardisation and integration, a move from various email systems to a global standard of Exchange and Outlook. Initial and ongoing project management of new global Business intelligence system and ERP system, to replace aging bespoke manufacturing software. Discussions and demo’s with ERP solution specialists, including Oracle, SAP, Syteline.
