Review SOPs according to regulatory standards and current scientific literature; develop new SOPs as needed. Communicate clearly and regularly with laboratory staff and other scientific and public health professionals. Prepare written reports and new methods. Present training and/or briefings. Participate in collaborative meeting with other government agencies. Additional responsibilities Maintain the section’s American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) certification of ISO/IEC 17025 by working closely with the laboratory’s Quality Assurance (QA) and section personnel. Review, edit, and approve section SOPs. Write and manage Preventative Action Reports (PARs) and Corrective Action Reports (CARs). Oversee general laboratory functions and hiring actions.

Present training and/or briefings to staff. Participate in collaborative meeting with other government agencies. Serve as the collateral duty DoD FADL Safety Officer and Chemical Hygiene Officer ensuring that all DoD FADL safety and chemical hygiene requirements are followed.
