As placement co-ordinator, I am responsible for organising placements for Plymouth medical students interested in anaesthetics. In this role, I liaise with senior clinicians at Derriford Hospital, theatre staff and medical students to ensure that as many students as possible get the chance to experience a taster day. Having experienced one of these placements as a first-year medical student and gaining a keen interest in anaesthetics as a result, I want to give other pre-clinical students the same opportunity that I had!
