As well as performing solo, I also currently perform with a number of ensembles: The Coast Road, Mouthful, Human Music and Tryckster. I’ve had the good fortune to play and sing in a variety of prestigious venues all over the world, although I particularly enjoy low-key 'off the grid' impromptu performances in remote areas, and the series of outdoor recordings I've been building, entitled 'Songs From Nowhere'. I have been involved in education and Community Music (CM) in one way or another since becoming a teacher in 1990. I lead two community choirs in West Cumbria - Sing Owt! and Sing In! - and co-lead Mouthful Voices in Newcastle with the rest of Mouthful, in the 'Natural Voice' tradition i.e. non-auditioned, mostly learning aurally.
