Serengeti Watch is a project of Earth Island Institute, a nonprofit conservation organization located in Berkeley, California. The mission of Serengeti Watch is to build a strong coalition of support, advocacy, and funding for the Serengeti ecosystem, the people living around it, and adjacent reserves and protected areas. Equally important as our advocacy role – the funding of development programs that help build a model of sustainable tourism. Its clients were leading US universities, museums, zoological societies, professional associations, and photographers, including Harvard, Cornell, Chicago Field Museum, Wildlife Conservation Society, San Diego Zoo, Archeological Institute of America, and others.
