My new exciting role within NCH&C is to work with 3 of the 5 CCGs within Norfolk to enable them to deliver the 5 year forward view in a way that is sensitive to the needs of General Practice and meeting the needs of the STP's and financial constraints. I believe that transforming out of hospital care is key to delivering this & improving patient care so working within a large Community Trust is a logical & challenging role for me. Part of my role is caring for the patients in our Community Hospitals - a role I have performed at various times over the last 15 years and one which I both enjoy and find stimulating. Working out how to ensure this vital resource's future is guaranteed and fits in with the aim of improving out of hospital care is a priority for me and the organisation. Show less

This NHSEngland post introduced me to the workings of the NHS, how to deliver projects which were relevant to national agendas but workable on a local level. I worked across many parts of Healthcare, with Commissioning, individual GP surgeries, the East of England Ambulance Trust and Public Health England. All had their challenges and learning how to adapt the way I work to their needs and protocols was fascinating & very educational. It is a role I relished and was very sad when the 2 year post came to an end with the re-organisation of NHS England's clinical networks. Show less
