Benjamin Davis, MBA

I had the pleasure of working side by side with Daryl during my tenure at SEI, ESCO, and Emerson. Daryl is an excellent designer with a high level of knowledge in CAD system administration, Mil Spec requirements, and Mentor Graphics tools as well as printed wiring boards. He has worked to keep abreast of the latest trends and technologies so he can provide the level of service his customers need. Daryl's work ethic and attention to detail are second to none and is the type of employee that adds value to whatever team or project he is assigned. He has the heart of a teacher and will take the time to explain and mentor his colleagues in learning tool systems and design.

Daryl's work output is always excellent and he performs his tasks cheerfully. He is a team builder by offering technical suggestions and by encouraging team members to work together. When I was given a project, I would always ask for Daryl to work on the PCB activities because the work would be done correctly, on schedule and within the program budget constraints. The following is one of many examples of Daryl's performance. The team was working on a project with a tight schedule. The electrical design team was late on completing their tasks; therefore Daryl got his PCB design assignment late per the program schedule. Daryl immediately started working on the PCB design. I happened to stop by work on a Saturday afternoon and Daryl was working on this assignment. He had not been asked to work weekend by his supervisor. When asked why was he working the weekend, his response was "I don't want the program to be late. I thought I could make up some time by working the weekend." Please note that Daryl was not compensated for his extra effort, he did it because of his work ethics.

Support engineering by creating digital/analog printed wiring board designs for a variety of new products/customers, using the Altium Designer 3D CAD software. Ensure quality of drawings; analyze the effect of proposed changes; recommend possible solutions or alternate constructions; modify drawings, as required; confer with engineers to resolve issues; adhere to Company/Industry specifications and procedures. Established centralized PCB footprint and schematic symbol database libraries on a company SVN server and wrote procedures to maintain the new libraries. Now the company library menu allows for searchable part number, description, footprint, or more fields to find existing proven components, saving the time of creating another similar component.
