  Whilst awaiting the right Warehouse position I have been Sub Contracting for a Building Company overseeing all aspects of various residential renovation projects. I am now eager to return to Warehouse Management and am seeking a long-term Warehouse Position, preferably in the Furniture Industry.

  Managing the warehouse and one member of staff. Ensuring all deliveries were collected and made. Suppliers consisted mainly of high end Italian companies such as Calligaris, Cattelan and many others. Maintaining the company stock checking system. Assisting Dispatch dept with routing of deliveries when necessary. Dealing with any supplier issues. Picking of goods from Warehouse and loading onto vehicles for deliveries. Also overseeing the unloading of vehicles on return to the Warehouse. This involved inspecting and logging any returned items.

  This position was as the Warehouse Manager for a logistics company that dealt with deliveries for the Home & Retail sectors. Running out of 5 main warehouses in Tamworth, The Wirral, Heston, Belfast and Altamura, Italy, they also had 2 satellite depots in Darlington & Cardiff. Managing a team of 25, using bespoke in-house software for stock control, attending management meetings on a regular basis. Average weekly deliveries were roughly 2,000 between all sites. This was very much a desk-based position and not very hands on. Although this was a position I enjoyed, I decided the time was right to move closer to home as I was staying in Tamworth from Monday to Friday.

  I initially started as a member of the sales team and quickly progressed to Management level, responsible for the customer services department. This was mainly dealing with complaints and difficult customers / situations and to produce a positive outcome where possible. I then moved into the Warehouse Manager role where my main responsibilities were Managing a team of 9 Warehouse & Delivery staff. Coordinating daily and weekly tasks to ensure the smooth running and operation of the warehouse. Implementing new ideas, procedures and practices to ensure exceptional customer service, operational effectiveness, and cost efficiencies. It was with this move that I realised that Managing a warehouse was something I enjoyed all aspects of and a position I wanted to continue to progress in and further my career.
