Darren and I worked together for several years at Commvault. Darren faced many challenges and obstacles while rebuilding a business during a time of significant leadership rotation and organizational uncertainty. Throughout these trying times, Darren was able to keep both his employees and peers focused on achieving business goals despite not having direct control of the circumstances he encountered. Throughout these times of adversity, he was very successful in achieving trust amongst his colleagues and leaders. He stays calm during times of crisis. He navigates through the many changes that are normally out of his control, always with a calm demeanor. Darren has strong business acumen. He leads with empathy and is an extremely hard worker, a constant learner, always trying to develop and improve both himself and the teams he supports. He is a team player and strong collaborator. He is a very authentic leader and human being.

Darren is one of those managers that leaves a long-lasting memory and continues to help you in your career and personal growth long after your paths have split. Darren's genuine care for his team and your person stays with you. Never shy to go to bat for you, nor to sincerely discuss your growth path and potential; some of the conversations I have had with him have stayed with me to this date, allowing me to thrive whether under a less vision-oriented management team or in the absence thereof. He has an uncanny way to make you feel valued, treats everyone with the utmost respect and can deliver good and bad news in such a way that you are never reluctant to receive either. He relates to his employees by demonstrating how to learn and grow based on his own experiences helping overcome employee challenges and stagnation in career development. So much so that being accustomed to accustomed to coaching co-workers and friends alike, he was one of the few I could recommend others to have a chat with, effectively delegating such with no after-thoughts, knowing they were in the best hands. A great conveyor of company culture and positive energy, Darren would be a great addition to a dynamic team and would easily promote cohesion in a disparate one.
