Leak testing high pressure pipelines at the Sullom Voe, Total Gas Plant, Shetland Islands. Collecting work pack at the start of each shift, carrying out a toolbox talk with my team and proceeding to set up the test as per Isometric/P&ID drawings ,fitting all test blinds and test fittings. On completion of set up I would then fill and vent the system at all the high points to release any trapped air. Once the system is fully vented, liaising with the client to sign on all pressure charts prior to them witnessing the test. The test would then be pressurised to test pressure in stages and held for a specific time depending on the pipe material. On completion of test I would then begin to depressurise in a controlled manner to 0 bar. All test paperwork signed off and the system would be de-rigged of all test equipment and the area would be tidied up and made safe. Flange inspection, line walking, confined space entry and safety.
