      • Apr 2012 - May 2016

As a Personal Banker, I assisted customers with their financial needs, whether it be needing access to funds to get them to where they need to go, or simply by lending advice. The products available to people nowadays are creative and seemingly endless which, while terrific, can also be daunting to many.I also assisted in the day-to-day operations of the branch where I had an active role in training other staff members, worked together in problem solving activities and held numerous supervisory roles. This job was a great place to work as a team while also working on my own, creating my own work schedule and ensuring people's needs were met. My attention to detail and experience in accounting enabled me to work through complex projects with efficiency and skill, as well as enabled me to assist in work on the commercial side of banking on top of my regular activities. The most rewarding aspect of the job was being able to educate people on financial matters and giving them the tools for long term financial success. Nothing was more satisfying than enabling others to achieve their goals.

Throughout the five rewarding years at this property management company, I was able to gain valuable experience in the accounting world where I managed the Account Receivables. This involved interaction with building managers in Alberta, BC and in the USA to ensure smooth month to month operations. I was relied upon to send monthly reports to the Controller which involved monitoring vacancies & monthly rental analysis. In addition, I was heavily relied upon to produce reports for our annual auditing while staying on top of the regular day-to-day work load. It was a rewarding experience working for this company which taught me so much and am forever thankful for.

I was employed as a carpenter for this company where we constructed homes in the Edmonton Area. It was a great job that I was able to do in and around my school hours that was always outdoors, always going hard from early on, to late afternoon. I was able to improve my 'handy-man' skills and working with other people, by myself or on a team. I learned how to work in a fast-paced environment and how to think on the fly and continually look back at this job with fond memories. My tasks at Chem Dry were to drive around the city, meeting clients at their homes where I was to review their homes, make recommendations on which carpets & upholstery needed to be cleaned, why Chem Dry was (and is) the best company for the job, and then perform the work to the best of my abilities. I learned how to work on my own and to become reliable at a young age, traits that I have been able to hone and improve upon since. Working at Chem Dry was a great experience that I value to this day where I learned a lot about myself and how to interact with clients and co-workers.
