At St. Mary's University, my role has many responsibilities and can take many forms. As the Director of Social Media, Videography and Creative Photography for a small but growing institution, I wear many hats around campus. For social media, I create and manage content for the University's six main channel accounts that upholds the reputation of the institution while maintaining student-focused energy that helps increase brand awareness as well as student recruitment. Daily posts, crisis management, paid or organic campaigns, analytic data analysis, video and photo projects, team management and training workshops all fall under my umbrella of responsibilities. I also assist lower-level accounts with channel development and set best-practice guidelines for campus. In the world of video, I am responsible for the management, development and quality of visual content produced by and for St. Mary’s. I have written, shot and edited dozens of video projects for the University that range from exciting athletics promotions to serious pieces that reflect the importance of our campus mission. I develop video projects for outside groups as well that have touchpoints with St. Mary’s. Additionally, I am responsible for maintaining the quality of content that others produce for the University, act as an on-site liaison for hired production companies and assisting with media requests. In my time at St. Mary’s, I have helped produce video content for the BBC, ESPN and local affiliates. I am proud to say that eight of my video projects have received honors in various competitions. As the in-house photographer for the Office of Communications, I take on a wide range of photography projects. In my role, I handle portrait shoots for staff and faculty headshots, act as an event photographer, provide photographic content for social media and marketing material, collaborate with freelance photographers and help develop and manage the creative photography from the campus alumni magazine.

Additionally, I create graphics and marketing materials for our 14 corporate sponsors as needed. A key portion of my role involves the design, creation and management of promotions and social ad campaigns while analyzing key metrics to compile reports for management showing results (ROI) of social media activities.
