In this role I consulted to many medium sized customers and IT resellers , providing a range of Virtualisation, Networking and Windows pre-sales and post-sales support services. Direct customer services include technical advice, planning, implementation and second/third level support services. The scope of services provided varies from break fix through to assistance in the complete systems design and architecture and implementation. In this role I would typically operate as a trusted adviser to the customer with my scope of responsibilities ranging from management of the solution definition, vendor negotiation, implementation and customer sign off. Where applicable I provided third level support services to the reseller to enable them to deliver complex services to their customers that would otherwise be outside of their engineering skill set. Third level support services were also provided to assist the reseller engineering team members to resolve complex and unusual problems.

    • CIO - Note: Solution Architect would have been a more accurate title.

Initially my services were provided as a full-time contracted resource, later becoming an employee. During this time Leapfrog IT/Lightstorm grew from three to twelve full time and contract staff. As a specialist software developer and provider, delivering low value non-cash payment products and services including loyalty and gift cards, closed circuit payment, credit card and banking payment products across multiple banks, payment providers, countries and currencies. Both custom and customised software solutions were also developed and integrated with our payment, SMS notification and Point of Sale advertising products. My role within the company, initially this included platform design and implementation, developing fully redundant systems, top level application design and application specifications, testing and internal sign off for the custom-processing platform. As we grew this expanded to management of the customer acceptance and sign off of custom applications. My role was broad, providing internal IT resources, vendor negotiations, employee role definition and identification. Over time this evolved into managing the business (excluding the sales process). The role included some Java, VisualBasic and Borland C development during the initial implementation phase migrating to C# and Windows .NET as the company grew. As we expanded, my role focused more on systems integration and application architecture. Scoping payment provider integrations and assisting in the sales process with solutions specifications. My responsibilities included • Customer interaction • Pre and Post Sales management • Software design and specification • Infrastructure (hardware, software, virtualisation planning, procurement and implementation). • Security management and control • Development Team management • Engineering Team management • Day to day business operations
