As the focal point of liaison between students and the Careers and Employability Centre (CEC) my principal duties were to increase awareness within the Mathematics Department of the CEC activities, events and resources; to represent the views of the CEC at students’ meetings and to report students’ opinions and ideas to the relevant CEC contact. I was also responsible for liaising with the Student Marketing Assistant team. Insight Day - Corporate Banking & Securities: Markets

Spent a day shadowing the Director of European Equity Trading on the Trading Floor at Deutsche Bank’s Head Office; witnessed stock trading and observed liaisons between trading and sales teams before meeting with Manager of Execution Services. Work Experience Placement

During this one week placement I shadowed several Private Banking Assistants, a Business/Risk Assistant and a Financial Planner. I learnt about the different levels of investments for clients including wealth management, enhancement and preservation, and the financial planning involved in making the right choice for the client. I observed the risk analysis process and attended a meeting between a Private Banker and a client to discuss his investments and pension with Coutts.
