Within the business I was a key developer for new methods and procedures and had to comply with numerous legislative, customer, and accreditation standards. As such I had a strong ability to develop testing regimes and experimental design, and to analyse data for interpretation of results. This involved good communication skill sets in liaising with specialists within the business for developing new methods, and having a deep knowledge basis to bring forward well informed decisions and ideas to discussions. My technical knowledge within the role was often heavily relied upon by the business, and I had been fundamental to developing the laboratory to a high auditing standard. I also fulfil many key support aspects across the business; I am an internal auditor and work with the site audit team to maintain standards across the business in compliance with legal and customer requirements. I am also directly responsible for a team of technicians across the site that manage chemical handling within their departments, ensuring that the legislative and safety aspects are fulfilled. Further responsibilities involve repair and calibration of sensitive testing equipment, which often involves in depth adjustment and statistical interpretation, and maintenance of the laboratory consumable stock levels with budget control and supplier liaison. I also champion Health and Safety onsite, managing the stock for the first aid stations and challenging unsafe behaviour on site.
