The Director of Marketing and Communications is one of five members of the Association’s Senior Management Team, with joint corporate responsibility for the leadership and management of the students’ union. Reporting to the Chief Executive, the role involves having strategic oversight of all the organisation’s marketing and communications activity to 49,000 students and 300 staff, as well as a wide range of stakeholders including colleagues in the University of Edinburgh. The Students’ Association works across 6 different venues – the Pleasance, Potterrow, Teviot Row House, Pollock Halls, King’s Buildings and Edinburgh College of Art – to provide a great range of facilities, spaces and services for students. These include multiple bars and catering outlets, shops and online retail; representation work, campaigning and awareness building; a year round programme of entertainments and events; a huge range of welfare and support services and campaigns and providing students with access to a wealth of communities, experiences and development opportunities.
