Rick Spellins
I've worked with Darrell extensively over the past decade and have the utmost respect for him. Darrell is not one to let the company run, he wants to run the company. He is always one to ask questions around his work environment. Why does it work this way? How can it be done better? Who are the key stakeholders? How can we deliver better results? Personally, I worked with Darrell around commodity purchasing and price risk management. He has a full understanding of his key inputs and how developments in the grain markets affect those input costs. He uses his skill set to break down these various inputs and manages all pricing mechanisms. In addition to his commodity trading skill set, Darrell has extensive knowledge around plant operations and labor force management. There is very little he can't do in the plant workplace. In my humble opinion, Darrell would make an exceptional team member to any company opts for his talents. Best of luck! Rick Spellins Senior Director Commodity Purchasing Group Tyson Foods, Inc.

I have had the opportunity for Darrell to work with me for 13 years in various roles while I was over our Mexican Original and TNT flour operations. I found his operations and commodity purchasing skills to be top notch and his understanding of the P&L statement to be very thorough as to balancing production with sales to maximize earnings on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis. Darrell maintains a strict eye for detail in any operation and is effective in communicating it to fellow team members to improve upon the task at hand. I would recommend this individual be given close consideration of any senior level operations job.
