Test Engineer

Jul 2013 - Mar 2016
After completing my degree, I returned to Elite as a Test Engineer during my time with Elite I have worked with customers setting up and designing tests to ensure their products are in full working order ready for dispatch as some of the products are sent direct to market. My main role was to fix faulty PCBs set aside by the test technicians. These faults have to be fixed within a tight time scale to meet the customer demands. Some of Elites customers are based in the medical or the security sectors so the quality of work carried out has to be to IPC 610 standard. As an Engineer I was leading a team of technicians to ensure the all demands of the customer can be met.

Jul 2011 - Sep 2012
Whilst completing my degree I was given the opportunity to do a placement year, during this time I was employed by Elite Electronics as a test technician. My role as a technician was to test PCBs built on site. All PCBs had to be tested to the high standards set either by the customer or medical standard. Some of the PCB’s that were being manufactured in Elite are designed to be used in medical, security and military devices. During my year as a technician I learnt how to fault find complex problems in PCBs while working to strict deadlines.

Jul 2007 - Sep 2008
Whilst completing my national diploma I also completed a placement in JMG Systems, I began in 2006 working on the production line making products from the drawings provided, in June 2007 I was given the opportunity to move to quality and test, here my job was to test all products to ensure that they were working correctly and ready for dispatch. In August 2007 I was then given the chance to work in an office with other engineers doing R and D to develop incoming products, during this time I felt I was allowed to develop my own skills as well as develop on what I was learning at college. My duties at JMG also included producing BOMs for new designs.
