  This role would commonly position me as the first point of contact between external contractors and the PMO whereby I was responsible for initiating various projects. Providing GIS assistance for the PMO and the wider sectors within Irish Water was a daily duty which greatly enhanced my practical GIS skills. Daily duties commonly involved reviewing the quality of existing GIS datasets and preparing maps, reports and spreadsheets upon request in an efficient manner while simultaneously balancing a demanding workload. Communication with PMO team members and external contractors was a fundamental daily requirement which greatly enhanced my communication and interpersonal skills. Working in conjunction with a large team to deliver a high standard of work was an essential requirement which enhanced my work ethic and helped me to develop key teamwork skills. This role has greatly advanced my GIS knowledge base and knowledge of the utilities sector. It has also given me an in-depth understanding of the daily applications of GIS in a working environment. On occasion I was required to train new members of staff so they could be swiftly brought up to speed with their duties and responsibilities within the company. Show less
