Production Manager
-
Nov 2011 - Oct 2013
My employer originally hired me to produce my music but I immediately became interested in the magazine and advertising side of things. Using online tutorials I taught myself how to use Photoshop, InDesign, how to build websites and direct photography. I was soon promoted to Art Director and continued to climb the ladder to Production Manager and finally Country Director. Manuel Of Blackness CANOE Africa is your Contemporary Handbook of Blackness. It is strategically forged to chronicle the African renaissance at the turn of the 21st Century. CANOE primarily sails for the Black African cause and ascension; featuring the positive side of Africa that is often overlooked, misinterpreted or undervalued by the global media. CANOE profiles exemplary Africans at different growth stages in their Game, unlocking and igniting that passion, necessary to develop the real resplendent potential of our continent, independent countries and her citizens. AESTHETICS - CANOE Africa is designed with a conservatively slick minimalistic aesthetic. It is not for everyone. It is printed over an uncompromising high raw material specification, employing state-of-the-art green manufacturing ethics, and bound to a peerless matt satin finish. Each issue’s content radiates from a distinctly different central theme, elected to provoke intellectual discussions while engaging the reader through a fusion of arresting images and penmanship. CANOE is for the generation of afro-patriotic professionals that are keen on positively contributing to our renascent continent: That premium calibre of decision makers, leaders and intellectuals of African origin, descent or bias. CANOE unleashes an authentic FUBU appeal time and again with the release of every issue. This Manual Of Blackness is the promise of a devoted team of professional photographers, designers and writers, working cohesively under the creative direction of a self-appointed ‘Gatekeeper’ of the African continent. www.canoeafrica.com
