Oversee/back-up the Payroll and Benefits functions to ensure compliance. Essential Job Functions (Functions essential to attaining job objectives): 1. Ensures that the HR Assistant manages the monthly payroll process in an efficient manner assuring a timely and accurate pay, and adequately functions as back-up when necessary. 2. Ensures that the HR Assistant processes the monthly health insurance premiums in a timely and accurate manner, and adequately functions as back-up when necessary. 3. Responds t employee inquires/calls regarding benefits and payroll related issues in a timely and professional manner. 4. Responds appropriately to requests by auditors/examiners. 5. Monitors and assures compliance with workers compensation procedures, FMLA requirements, Affirmative Action, EEO reporting, and other statutory requirements. 6. Effectively functions as the Company liaison for the 401(k) Plan with the Administrator (ING) and investment Advisor (MSSB). Adequately addresses employees’ questions regarding the Plan. 7. Provides an adequate framework for the recruitment process, inclusive of advertising, screening, and assisting in the manager’s hiring decision. 8. Professionally handles exit interviews and adequately obtains and records the necessary information. 9. Regular In-Person Attendance due to the interactive nature of the position Critical Skills/Expertise (Needed for this job, specifically): 1. Fifteen (15) years of progressive Human Resources experience 2. Calculator skills average to above average 3. Computer skills average to above average 4.
