I connected with Darko in a completely virtual engagement model over a 6 month period. It began as an open-ended exploration of my career goals and my practice at my organization Quest Alliance. What began has a blank slate quickly turned into an engaging and deep reflection of my leadership role. Over the 6 month engagement, Darko helped me dissect sticky questions that face leaders in organizations that are in a growth trajectory. The central component of our engagement revolved around the issue of how a leader like myself can hold space in an organization that is fast growing and is the subject of many different pulls and pressures. Being able to work with the organization's management team and helping them navigate the polarities and often times paradoxes of decision making was the biggest area that Darko's coaching made a huge impact on me. At the end of 6 months, I have come away with great clarity on aspects of my own leadership style, concepts of balancing situations that are often at odds with each other and being able to facilitate conversations with senior leaders on the need for a middle ground. The fundamental problem of "either / or" thinking that plagues organizations is something I deeply understood. Darko's coaching was always thoughtful, measured and insightful. His questions pushed me to think differently and his feedback has helped me immensely in my journey to become a more empathetic and useful COO for Quest Alliance. Thank you Darko!

Darko spent a full weekend supercharging 100+ lawyers from around the world in their leadership skills during the AIJA half year conference. His reflections and advice were deep and interactive and he taught us with passion and patience.

The “Visible Value” is a mapping study of tools and good practices for better recognition of youth work and non-formal learning/education at European and national levels, conducted from April till October 2014. The Mapping study was one of the measures taken based on the Statement and the Plan of action adopted after the Symposium on Recognition of Youth Work and Non-Formal Learning (Strasbourg, November 2011). The main aim of the Mapping is to contribute to the promotion of youth work, as well to share, transfer and multiply well-tested approaches and inspire further initiatives towards recognition at local, national and European level. The mapping has covered 23 recognition tools and good practice from 17 countries, addressing all four recognition dimensions (as stated in the Pathways paper 2.0): self, social, formal and political recognition.
