At AUIS, I have taught courses in the areas of poitics, philosophy, and composition. I have held the administrative positions of Core Covener, Dean of Faculty/Core Convener. and Chairman of the Core Program. During the time I have been at AUIS, I have served on several committees: for instance, the Strategic Planing Committee and the Curriculum Committee. I chaired the first elected Curriculum Review Committee, and I chaired the Curriculum Task Force (an ad hoc committee charged to reform the AUIS Core Program and develop an English-Journalism major). As Dean of Faculty, I worked with the Conveners of the various majors to build sound academic programs and culture. Working with other administrators and instructors, I helped to shape various academic institutions--most notably, a reasonable system of grading standards, an advising system, and a set of practices and guidelines for student dismissal and probation. I prepared and managed budgets. I supervised and mentored faculty, and handled, when necessary, cases of faculty discipline. As Chairman of the Core Program, I began the process of aligning that program with accreditation standards.
