From the moment I joined Team Rubicon two years ago, I have looked to Darcy as a leader and as a model for reason, calm, and authenticity. As the longest-tenured member of our Development team, Darcy held a vast amount of knowledge and experience in multiple spaces within and outside of our department (and during periods of immense growth for the organization). She worked closely with members of our board and our highest level individual donors, and she managed the fundraising strategy of our annual Salute to Service Gala. She executed all of these roles with the highest levels of professionalism, collaboration, and efficiency, which is evident in her funds raised and the exponential growth of her region and our Gala. I am amazed that she was able to manage a major gifts portfolio and a multi-million dollar event at the same time, both with incredible success. Beyond her technical expertise, I especially appreciated Darcy's warmth and her passion for Team Rubicon's mission; these things really shine in the relationships she has built with donors and with staff throughout our organization. I feel lucky to have gotten the chance to know and work with her, and any team who gets to have Darcy in their orbit is a lucky team indeed!

I directly managed and worked with Darcy Calderon at the National Kidney Foundation Serving Southern California & Southern Nevada for two and a half years during which time I served as Division Development Director, and over this time period I watched her ascend from the position of Development Associate to Special Events Director in a relatively short time frame because of her exceptional fund-raising and leadership abilities. Darcy is an extremely innovative, energetic and passionate leader in the field of development who has a vision beyond just the project or upcoming event at hand. I witnessed Darcy's superb organizational skills and team-leading abilities as she juggled the management of multiple projects, staff persons and special events at one-time while always remaining extremely professsional. Her abilitly to identify, develop and cultivate donors and sponsorships across a multi-tiered platform of special events, programs, campaigns and projects, is a testament to her great vision as a development and fund-raising professional. I would wholeheartedly recommend Darcy as a leader on any development or professional fund-raising team.
