      Worked alongside the Senior Womenswear Designer on Debenham’s most profitable brand ‘Principles’ on their ‘Principles Softs Team’ from SS20 ranges to the start of SS21 ranges; responsibilities listed below. • Research Development; o Mood boards from trend analysis, fashion week reviews (including street style) with other assistant designers from other brands including Jenny Packham, Kley & Jasper Conran to begin the season. o Key items pages; Photoshop documents that showed all catwalk/street style outfits with repetitive features; ‘Volume Sleeve’, ‘Diana Blazer’, ‘Colour: Pastel Blue’, to show what was trending and what was a continuation from the last season. o Comparative shop reports; A document produced fortnightly showing what companies such as; NEXT, Topshop & Kooples, had in the shop floor/online, what price points they had to offer & what we had/were missing. • Design Development; o Designing from scratch: Hand drawn designs & digital designs o CADing ALL designs (including the Senior Designer’s designs) on Illustrator o Technical Flats: Putting designs into technical flats format ready to be sent to suppliers. o Attending Fits; checking the garments looked like the design and making changes with the production team if necessary. • In-House Meetings with Senior Staff; o Including Research, Initial Design, Fits, Range Plan and Sign off Meetings. o Presenting digital mood boards, fabric boards, garment samples, range plans, and final fit photos to the Head of Womenswear & Head of Design o Note-taking whilst my team were presenting o Producing long In-design documents with all this information for sign off meetings. • Landed Suppliers Meetings; o Responsible for communicating the initial ideas we had for design & fabrics for that season o Pulling fabrics of interest to present to Senior Designer and Senior Buyer o Briefing technical flats to suppliers via email, video call and in person Show less
