Danut was one of the most hardworking Quality Engineers in our QA team. With his help we were able to catch critical bugs and fix them in time for our release. He was proactive in brining new ideas to test our software and then implemented those ideas. I highly recommend him to any company looking for quality work.

08/28/2018 Re: Professional Recommendation for Danut Moraru Dear Hiring Manager: I was the QE Manager for a prototype open source minimal Linux container host operating system code named ‘Photon’ being developed by VMWare, Inc. My employment was from June, 2015 through June, 2016. Our QE team consisted of eight software engineers and all but one were hired just a few weeks before me. Danut was my newly hired senior level software engineer and from the outset he was responsible for engaging my team’s most complex tasks. Throughout our time together, Danut demonstrated innovative approaches to solving problems and he clearly articulated his informed position. Danut was a quick learner, respectful of others, and had a proven track record of owning and driving projects from inception to completion. In a small scope but high impact example Danut successfully automated the unattended installation of our daily OS builds utilizing Python scripts and Kickstart. In doing so, Danut dramatically improved the efficiency, timeliness, repeatability, and capability of the Test team. In a large scope, complex, ecosystem example Danut worked with our Photon DEV team to deliver a package aware filetree replication system feature called RPM-OSTree. Danut automated the end-to-end deployment and validation of this ecosystem feature as well as provided full documentation for its release. Danut actively worked with the developer of the feature to scope, prioritize, and create the necessary test cases required to validate the RPM-OSTree ecosystem. From edge-case discovery to in-depth triage to well documented issue reports Danut drove key RPM-OSTree issues in a timely manner. As reiterated by our projects Program Manager, the advertised RPM-OSTree feature would have not made it into Photon without Danut’s persistence, dedication, and innovation. Danut was reliable, attendant, and actively engaged at all times during the day. Danut was a positive team player that proactively helped inform and educate others. It was a pleasure to work with Danut on the Photon 1.0 project. Sincerely, Brue McCallum (Former) QE Manager for Photon at VMWare, Inc brucemccallum@gmail.com
