    • Sports Medicine Internship
      • Jan 2019 - May 2019

My last semester of University, I did an internship in the SWOSU athletic training room, essentially the schools physical therapists (or physiotherapist as we call them in Australia). We did rehabilitation programs with injured athletes, medical coverage of sporting games, pre and post practice treatments and so on. In this job I worked with a lot of trainers who I was able to assist and learn off. I was able to work with regular clients who I did all types of rehab with. This job was able to help me problem solve, think on my feet, have strong communication skills, be reliable and appreciate how much these people do for athletes. I also made a manual for future interns to be able to guide them through what to do. Show less

    • Housing Coordinator
      • Oct 2018 - May 2019

While at university in the USA, I became a housing coordinator. I was promoted from being a Resident Advisor (RA), to being a Housing Coordinator. As a Housing coordinator I supervised the designated residence halls, enforced residence life rules and codes of conduct, managed the Resident Advisors, held weekly meetings, put in office hours. I was on call 24/7 for any crisis/emergency situations and assistance with any issues with resident or the hall itself. I had to deal with a lot of concerned and often angry parents, this taught me to be clam in tense situations and to problem solve. I helped coordinate the campus housing program and related services and facilities; I supervised staff and manage facility and program budgets. We hired, supervised, trained and coordinated work of assigned residential life staff and student staff as assigned. We did a lot of filing of paperwork, answering phones, coordinating rooming assignments, scheduling meetings, making posters and flyers, assisting with health and safety checks, distributing paperwork, emailing residences, writing reports and so on.I really enjoyed this job, I had an amazing staff of RA’s and we all really connected with the residents in the building well. As a team we were able to keep the residence hall under control while making it a fun and safe environment for them to live. Show less

    • Resident Assistant
      • Jan 2018 - Oct 2018

A Resident Assistant (RA), works and lives in the residents halls on campus, to help provide a safe, clean and enjoyable environment for all students. We have many responsibilities some of which include enforcing residence life policies and procedures, putting on events for you hall, being available to students to help answer any questions they may have and so on. I learnt a lot in this job. Some of the skills and values I learnt include taking responsibility for yourself and others, communicating with lots of people at one time, and being a role model. We get to know many of the residents on a personal level, and are able to support them as their RA and friends. We also encourage students to get involved. Show less
