I have gained many experiences and have learnt a lot, including self-motivation, team working, time management and professionalism. It taught me to be self-disciplined in anything I do. Being reliable and enthusiastic are day to day traits in the army as you never know what your next task would be. I have also worked for the Army recruitment team. Working at various locations across the south-east, where we would go around trying to recruit people to join up to the army. This was done walking through town centres and going up to passers-by and engaging with them, to find out what they were passionate about and providing them with the information that would persuade them to join the army. This gave me the skills to become a good salesman, by providing me with the confidence to speak to strangers about something that I am passionate about. Before Joining the army, I started a career in finance working in an office. I joined as a Customer Service Advisor making and receiving calls to customers who had queries regarding their accounts. I would either provide them the information that they required, or I would process a new claim to sell their shares on the stock market. After an initial trial period of 3 months, I gained a full-time role and moved up to Technical Advisor, working on challenging claims with problems, or complaints. Day to day would be working on a computer, filing, complaint handling, working with a team to solve problems. Show less
